I am due to work away with the forces for 4 months. Does anyone know if you can extend the 62 day limit for roaming abroad?

Hi @RobT,

Welcome to the Community!

As long as you don’t roam within the full day then it shouldn’t count.

For example this means that you roam on day 1 but then don’t roam until day 3.

Hi there @RobT

I’m not aware of this being extended. But will you have access to WiFi?

The reason for asking is because if there is you could try toggling the phone into flight/airplane mode and then just toggle the WiFi back on for 24 hours or more. This would allow apps that use data to continue to work (normal calls, sms and mobile data would obviously not work). If you do this for a few days at a time you could ‘stretch’ the amount of days you can use for roaming when not on WiFi.

(so say you toggle it on at 23:59 on a Sunday and keep it on WiFi only until 00:01 on Wednesday you’d ‘gain’ extra days).

Or if a colleague had roaming too you could work together. One of you on roaming but with tethering enabled, the other (in flight/airplane mode) latches on to that WiFi and the 2nd guy wouldn’t be clocking up any roaming usage. After a few days swap.

Thanks @Daz_S . I have arrived out here now and the WiFi is pretty good so I switched off roaming on day 2 on the app, on the phone and put it in to flight mode. I'm guessing that means that I'm not using my roaming days?

Can anyone at ID confirm this for me please?
