Really hoping that someone can help.

My daughter is traveling to Italy with school and we took her ID mobile sim and put it in an old iphone xr to save her new phone

Sadly her roaming is not working and I am really keen to get this sorted for her.

I have talked her through doing a network reset, phone reboot and then manual selection of network and none of these have solved the problem.

When selecting a network she says 4g appears and then disappers..., can anyone help as I am troubled that I can’t fix this for her.

I am guessing that the apn settings are incorrect but this isnt an option with idmobile on iphone

Is data roaming toggled on the phone? Is roaming toggled on under manage services in your iD online account options? Make sure she is using TIM S.p.A, Vodafone Italy, or H3G S.p.A. to roam on.

Many thanks for replying!

90% certain that she has roaming on and I have confirmed that roaming is active on the account

She has been able to manually select a couple of networks but says that the 4g symbol pops up and then disappears

She should have had a welcome SMS also to confirm she is roaming.

Hello @Steven Walker

Thanks for getting in touch.

We are sorry to hear your daughter is having trouble getting connected.

As 4G is appearing, it sounds like she is getting a connection which is good. Has she been able to try all available networks as some may be stronger than others in the area she is in?

Is she able to test her SIM in another persons handset to see if it works at all?

Thanks,

Nat

Hi natalie

thanks for your message, unfortunately they have limited time and I don’t think anyway of changing sims.

i have purchased a prepaid eSIM and that is up and running for her so she is online again for the rest of the trip.
