Couple of issues over the past couple of months that I’ve never encountered before. 
 

Firstly outgoing calls are taking 15-20 to connect.  Just silence before the other line starts ringing.  Not a major issue just a bit odd

Secondly and more importantly; text messages are failing to send.  I send them and then get a notification that it’s failed to send.  Only way I’ve found to get round it is to turn off WiFi and use the data.  Any other solutions?

Perhaps the issue with sending text messages is something to do with the Apple iMessage app and service, @Rich Wildsmith

iMessage will prefer Wi-Fi if that’s available, if not then it uses your mobile data connection, and if that’s not available the text is sent as an old-fashioned SMS.

No I’m still having the same issues. Text messages unable to send.  Calls taking a while to connect.  
Called the wife yesterday.  Took about 15 seconds to start ringing.   Went to answerphone. 
when I got home she hadn’t missed any calls.  So I now have to use WhatsApp to call her.  We’re both using ID Mobile.  
We’ll have to look to switch to another network
