Keeping existing number

I registered my PAC code during the ordering process on a new phone, and the transfer date is today.

I’ve put the new ID SIM in my new phone after I shut it down but not powered back on yet.

Should I power on now (8:30am) or wait til a certain time or until I get some email that the transfer has taken place before I power up with the sim?

I just got an SMS on my old phone with the number I’m transferring, so the transfer hasn’t taken place yet. I’m not sure what will happen if I power up before the transfer as presumably I could have a new number temporarily (not sure how that would work with billing etc).

Hi there @AlonaStokmane

You need the PAC from your previous provider first. Make sure you do this before anything else.

Then you could try contacting iD via live chat

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

They use an iD Bot that operates 24/7, but I’d suggest you wait until the iD Humans are there. They are available 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 6pm Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays.

Have your transaction number, it would have been sent to you, to hand and ask them to see if they can adjust the account to suit. If they can sort this out there might be a little delay in your number becoming active on iD.

If possible @Jeremy Bradshaw, maybe leave the device, with your iD SIM, turned OFF until around 5pm today.

Most number transfers to iD Mobile appear to be completed by mid/late afternoon.

It’s definitely GONE from my old phone now (shows “unregistered sim”) but not yet registered with my new sim. (if I call the number neither phone rings). How long does it usually take?

Hi @Jeremy Bradshaw

Transfers can take from 8am to 10pm on the date they’re scheduled, are you still having any issues with this?

Hi @AlonaStokmane

Welcome and thanks for getting in touch.

As @Daz_S has advised, you will require a PAC from your previous provider in order to bring the number over to us.
