Making a one off payment

If I pay a 1 off lump payment does it just get taken off the direct debit deducted. I'm not wishing to pay my contract off early or change anything just want to stay ahead.

Effectively, yes.

 

If for example you pay £100 into your account and your monthly costs are £20, you’ll be covered for the next 5 months.

 

It’s worth noting that if this is done quite close to the direct debit taking automatically, the direct debit may also go out, but would just add to the credit.
