I am in the US and not receiving a code by txt to log into my account to setup data roaming? How else can I log in?

Okay @Maria Pender Hobday, your iD account bill cap might be £0, or the roaming mobile data option on your handset maybe turned OFF.

Roaming mobile data in the US is quite pricey - iD charge for this at £0.30/MB.

So for example:

  • Using 10MB/day = £3/day.
  • Using 100MB/day = £30/day.

Roaming is normally on by default for your iD account, @Maria Pender Hobday?

Did you turn this off before you arrived in the USA?

Hey there @Maria Pender Hobday, welcome to Community!

As @andewhite has politely mentioned, roaming is normally turned on via default on your iD Mobile account, or can be switched on via logging into the iD Mobile app/website. You will also need to ensure you’ve enabled roaming via your phone’s own settings, as well as increasing your bill cap via the iD Mobile app/website, to allow for charges to go through, and to an amount you’re happy spending.

If you’re still having issues with receiving the verification code, or turning roaming on/off, please let us know, and we can discuss further.

Thank you,

Tyler

Hi @Maria Pender Hobday

Are you getting any roaming or is the issue just with receiving the text?

Are you able to manually connect to either AT&T and/or T-Mobile?

Tom

I'm receiving texts , still am not getting any data! My phone is showing the roaming signal/sign, it's just not connecting.

I'll try manually connecting to AT&T or T-Mobile.

Thank you.

Have tried connecting manually, it's says connected to a each network and signal is showing as on roaming, but when trying to go into the internet it's says 'no internet '.

How long have you been using the same iD SIM card, @Maria Pender Hobday

Sometimes very ‘old’ SIM cards seem to cause problems.

It was a brand new SIM Feb/March this year.

Are you using a VPN or Private DNS, @Maria Pender Hobday

Are you using more than one SIM in your handset?
