mobile data

I have unlimited data, but my data has not been working for the past 2 weeks. I’ve tried resetting data connection, I’ve checked the connection strength in my area and there are no issues. What can I do to fix this?

Fear not @Zahra H

You only need to ask for a replacement SIM (granted the SIM will be new, but its not on another/new contract).

So no, you keep your existing package.

Then, after popping into Currys you then need to do the following to activate this replacement SIM on your contract:

  1. Open the iD Mobile app or log-in to My Account Online.
  2. Tap ‘Plan’.
  3. Tap ‘SIM & phone management’.
  4. Tap ‘Activate a replacement SIM’.
  5. Enter and confirm your 19-digit SIM card number.
  6. Tap ‘Activate your SIM

But note the first 8 numbers of that SIM are already filled out:

Hi @Zahra H

The most obvious thing to check is whether you’ve accidentally turned off mobile data on your phones settings.

If that’s definitely on, the next thing to try would be a replacement iD SIM. You can pick one up for free from a Currys store.

Hi @Zahra H

It’ll be worth checking the basics as @Daz_S suggests above.

How are your calls and texts? Is the issue just data?

What device are you using the SIM card in?

Do you have this issue everywhere or just certain locations?

Yes, mobile data is on, I have tried resetting data connection as it says online and also checked network strength in my area, no issues. WiFi works fine, but mobile data doesn’t work at all.

Calls and texts are both fine, I have this issue everywhere. The mobile data doesn’t work at all at the minute. I have an IPhone 12

Okay @Zahra H, so as per my 2nd suggestion above, I’d still recommend getting a replacement iD SIM card from you nearest Currys store.

You would then need to activate it. This can be done via the iD Mobile app.

Okay, thanks for your help. I don’t know if this is a stupid question, but I have the phone on contract with IDmobile so if I get a knew sim, doesn’t this mean that my I will no longer receive my contract package (data, calls, texts)?
