Moving over phone number

Hello, we currently have a sim only deal with ID mobile, and have now taken out a pay monthly deal with ID mobile (account in different name).

I wish to switch the number over and then close the Sim only deal - can a PAC code be used in this case?

Thanks,

Unfortunately not, @Rob123

A PAC can only be used to transfer a mobile number from one service provider to a different service provider. iD can’t / won’t transfer a number from one iD account to another iD account.

Just port the number you want to keep to another service provider, and then port back to the iD account you plan to continue using.

Ok thanks cab I simply move to one provider for a couple of days on a pay as you go deal? and then port back to new ID mobile contract?  No minimum time for porting back

That should work perfectly, @Rob123.

The aren’t any time restrictions as such - the switching process used by the UK mobile network operators means it’ll take you several days to port out and then port back.

Mobile number transfers don’t take place immediately, on the date of the switch, nor would you be able to get a PAC on the day you switch service provider.

Hi @Rob123

In the event you’ve purchased a new iD Mobile deal instead of an upgrade, moving to another network’s Pay As You Go with a PAC code and then from that to the new iD Mobile plan via PAC code would be the best solution.

Also known as a “triangle port”.
