My number has been replaced with the temporary number?

I have data, minutes and unlimited text. I pay the original plan at £3.99/month. Which all still works. I get rollover data too. Its just the number has changed to the original number they give you before I had it changed with the pac code which is the number all my contacts have of me. Why have I lost the number.
