my old phone and old sim was in an ID account in my mums name. as I am 18 now I wanted to have my own phone plan in my own name on a separate account and also upgrade my phone. I have bought a new pay as you go sim and phone which has come with a new phone number, I have created my account in my name. however I was wondering how I can get my old phone number from my old sim and ID account onto my new sim. is there a way you can keep the same number and switch from two different ID accounts or does it only work if your switching from another company over to ID. any help much appreciated

Unfortunately @Ruby Robinson, you can’t move a mobile number from one iD account to another iD account.

To move the number you want to keep to your new iD account, you’ll need to port your old number to another mobile network, and then port this number back to iD Mobile, for your new iD account.

hey thank you- would I have to delete my new account and then set it up again as there isn't an option to change the new number with a pac code on my new account as ive already created it with the new number?

Sorry @Ruby Robinson, you can’t use a PAC from iD Mobile to transfer a number from one iD account to another iD account.

A PAC can only be used to move (port) a number from one service provider to another service provider.

yes so I would have to purchase a plan on another network and move the number over then move the number again to the new ID account- is this possible whist already haveing set up my new account or would I have to delete my new account and then sign up again using the pac code from the other network provider?

Yes, that’s correct @Ruby Robinson.

No need to cancel your new iD account though - you can use the PAC from the other network provider with your new iD account.

Hey there @Ruby Robinson, welcome to Community!

As @andewhite has kindly advised, you cannot change the name or ownership of an account I’m afraid. To keep your number with us, you’d either need to keep the contract in your Mum’s name, or join a new network, use a PAC code to transfer your number to them, and then use a PAC code to transfer back to us on your new contract.

Thank you,

Tyler
