No network after unexpected SIM text

I received the following message from ID today.

‘Great news! Your SIM activation is in progress. We'll send you a text once it's complete.’

 

However I have had my phone for a few months now and haven’t requested a new SIM. Now I have no network connection/can’t make or receive calls. Anybody experienced similar?
