No of rings for Voicemail

Hi - my question is for ID Mobile - I’ve read answers re no of rings before Voicemail activates & that with certain providers, including your selves it is a maximum of 30 seconds. So my question is WHY?

In 30 seconds my phone rings 3 or 4 times only. That is rarely enough for me (& judging from Community comments, lots of other people ) to register that the phone is ringing, remember where we left it and get to it in time.  We are not all members of the younger generation. Sometimes we may leave the room and not take the phone with us.  So again, as your customer, WHY can I not set the number of rings to my preferred length of time? I have been able to with other providers & other phones. Surely it is up to me as the phone user to set my preference?

On iD Mobile, the maximum ring time before a call diverts to voicemail is fixed at 30 seconds and cannot be extended beyond this limit. While you can shorten the ring time, you cannot increase it.

Hi Anika, unfortunately your reply does not answer my query. 

 

I stated I am aware that there is a maximum of 30 seconds - my query is WHY? Why can this not be increased? Why cant your customers choose the length of ring time?

I’m guessing you have an iPhone ​@laneydoodle? You need to turn off Live Voicemail.
