Sadly it only acknowledges any known issues, unlike some providers they also don’t give an estimated time for clearing the fault(s)

I tried that before posting this. I am in the Torquay area and I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem. There is an acknowledgement of a problem on the website but nothing to say if it will be down for a day; it’s been more than that already, a week or a month. Thank god for landlines 😁.

If there’s acknowledgement on the Status Page says there is an issue, it might be best to contact 3UK directly, as they own the infrastructure and might be able to provide more updates. Thanks.

Oh okay ​@emjay so you knew that bit already. I know of no other method without going direct, if Three would ‘talk’ to us as we’re not a direct customer - IDK.

I used to use the O2 network via Tesco, and I have to give O2 marks for allowing me to register my phone number onto their network outage system, which gave me regular updates - a possible deliberate or missed opportunity from Three here.

The same problem you ask - well yes. I have been having significant issues too, though I’m no where near Torquay. Mines been gradually degrading for months now and when Three switched off 3G mines become a major pain in the botty!

And yes I too remember that thing that collects dust in the corner of the room, that rings once in a while - ‘Chris’, who says ‘hi’, then goes on to say he is ‘from the home energy team in my local area’ often calls.😣

But what about setting Wi-Fi calling on your mobile, have you considered that?

I have just tried this. It is the same page as from the ID site. No help at all.

​@emjay I think he meant for you to try contacting 3 directly, though I would be truly amazed if they did respond. The other possible option would be to ask and friend or neighbour who lives near you and is/are also on Three to contact them…?

If only Three had the same number register function as O2 🙄 I know my phone would be!

Well here we are 5 days later and still no phone. The only difference is that while three and iD were talking about a fault in our area they are now saying that their systems are not reporting any problems. Well I can tell them that they are wrong. Well I will if I can find a way to get to either of them. Anyone any idea how you can report a fault?

If the fault has truly gone ​@emjay try restarting your phone. It may have latched on to a mast further away and by doing this it might pick the one closer.

So here we are again. Thanks Daz-S for the link. I finally got through to a live agent after asking the chat bot if it knew any humans.

The upshot of the communication was that my phone won’t link to the latest 4g version. It worked exactly as you would expect up until 5 days ago. How this new version help the customer is not clear and why id haven't seen fit to tell people in advance that their phones will no longer work is a mystery. The only thing I have seen is the warning about 3G not working. No one mentioned 4G.

Apparently it is still OK for id to charge you for your not working phone signal because they only provide the platform 🤑 😒. 

I have been with id for quite a few years and up until this point have always recommended them. Sadly they have now proved themselves to be unreliable and in the modern interconnected world where I bank on line, get my travel information, call a ride, shop etc. this will not do.

That’ll be due to 3G being switched off, probably when you spotted the issue

I have to agree. ALL service providers should be emailing their customers notifying them 3G is being turned off in there area. iD do send an email when 5G is supposedly in our area, so it can be done.

One area that announces it is currently at the top of the forum page with a yellow banner.

I totally get your reasoning. But you’re kinda wrong😮 - though please hear me out first before throwing your phone at me!🤔 - iD have no control over who and where 3G gets turned off for. It’s Three UK that’s giving us this major headache. By the end of the year 3G should be gone - but all other networks are switching of their 3G too.

On a separate subject, is your phone a Samsung by any chance? And if it is did you buy it unlocked?
