No signal on new ID sim after switch

I recently switched from Lebara to ID Mobile. I gave my PAC code, original phone number, ID number and transfer number over and scheduled the switch for 3rd March (today). I got to the success page at the end of the form but didn’t receive any confirmation via email/text. Now it is the switch date, my Lebara sim has ended, now stating no service, but when I enter the ID mobile sim, it says ID but has been without signal for hours.

I’m unsure if I’ve done something wrong -- I don’t think the switch has been successful, however can’t look into it/activate the new sim(?) as I have no service on either sim cards to receive the text verification code to log in!

Any assistance would be really appreciated as I can’t receive any calls, texts or work log-ins! I’ve tried with the chatbot but no help.

Hi @dors88888

Thanks for letting us know. To help your iPhone reconnect to the network and verify your iD SIM, please follow these steps carefully:

Go to Settings → Phone → My Number

Delete the old number and enter your new number, then tap Save

Go to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage off

Go to Settings → General → Reset → Reset Network Settings

Once your iPhone restarts, go back to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage on

This process will help your phone recognize the new SIM and verify it with the network.

Please let us know how it goes once you’ve tried this.

Before purchasing and submitting your PAC request did you check for coverage at your location? What’s your post code?

Furthermore, porting numbers can take up to 10pm to complete.

Hi, I checked recently on ID’s website and it says it should be perfect in my area.

Hi @dors88888

Sorry to hear that you are unable to make and receive calls after number switch.

Can you tell me the make and model of the phone so we can try some troubleshooting steps.

Hi Michael, I have an iPhone SE. It’s been almost 24hrs after I lost service with Lebara now and still no bars available with iD sim. Still also unable to log in to iD app as no service to receive login code.

Hi Marquerita, thank you so so much for your response! In settings>phone>my number, it was blank, inputting my number brought the signal immediately.

I’m now able to receive calls & texts, therefore have been able to login to the iD app (finally!!), and my phone number has successfully transferred.

Thank you so much again, you’ve solved my problem!!! Hope this helps someone else in the future. X

I have the same issue - no connectivity … tried all of the above and nothing … so bad

HI

I signed the contract with Id last Monday and downloaded eSIM, but the switch date was Thursday. Meanwhile I asked for and sent the PAC, so I can retain my number. From Thursday I can access the internet, but no service for phone. I can receive phone calls from IPhone and texts (I have IPhone 11), but not from or to other types of phones. Even calling IPhones is random (it shows ‘call back’ when the person is available, because I called on WhatsApp).
I cannot download the eSIM again (I tried). I’ve got now a physical card, but I cannot open the slot to change the sim. In settings i can still see all the info about the previous network. I turned off the automatic search for network, then on again - nothing changed.
can I ask for a new eSIM code? Can I maintain my number, if I do this?

Hi @Cocuchica,

We're sorry to hear you're having trouble after your number transfer.

It sounds like your services may not have fully provisioned yet. We'd recommend trying the following first:

For iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings > Phone > My Number and check that your transferred number is showing correctly. If it isn't, update it manually.
  2. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  3. Restart your iPhone.
  4. Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then back off.
  5. Go to Settings > Mobile Service and ensure your iD eSIM is enabled as the default line for calls, texts and mobile data.
  6. Make sure you're connected to the iD Mobile network automatically.

If you've already tried the above and the issue continues, please contact our Customer Service team via Live Chat. They'll be able to investigate the port and, if required, arrange for a new SIM/eSIM to be issued while keeping your existing mobile number.

You can contact them here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat
