number lost by ID during the porting process

I have a new ID account, ported my number from lebara and activation day was tuesday. Old number is now dead, ID said go back to lebara and ask them, lebara told me the port is now complete,so number no longer on their network.  Now ID are saying the number is gone and cant be retrieved. i have had same number for over 20 years, elderly and disabled. my number is my lifeline. Who can help me get my number back? im deflated i have been back and forth on chats i dont know what to do now. please help or should i just accept my number is now lost in ID space and cant be retrieved and move on?
