Hello! 
 

I recently swooped my O2 phone for an ID number and I was told that using the PAC code swop would only take a few days. It’s been just over a month and my old number is still not recognised and I have the original ID number which I don’t want. 
 

how do I go about having the original O2 number I previously had ?

Once your PAC code has been submitted, it takes on average (unless another date as been preselected) 24-48 working hours for your number to transfer over.

Have you ever received a text from iD to state that the number transfer has gone through? If not, we likely haven’t received the request, and a new PAC code will need to be submitted via the link below.

If you have, your mobile number likely needs to be updated in your phone settings from the temporary iD number to the one you transferred over.

thank you for the reply and the welcome! 
 

I did receive the text from O2 confirming the transfer and was told it would take 48 hours. I’ve gone into settings to change the phone number (on iPhone) but it doesn’t allow me to save - it only shows the given ID number. 

I don’t want to perform the network reset incase it looses all the data/ images on my phone already. 
 

im not sure what else to do as i had the previous number for a number of years.

Hi Lauren, I had the same thing happen with a PAC transfer from 3 to iD last week. Using an iPhone 16 running iOS 18.2 I had to repeatedly, rapidly hit the save button before the number actually saved.

I tried the advice of upgrading to IOS18.2 and just pressing save until it eventually did and it worked!
