phone not receiving or connecting to receiver when making calls

My phone doesn’t connect to receiver when I make a call and there is no ringing sound! If I turn it on and off it will then sometimes work for a while only. When someone try’s to call me there is often no response from m phone and I miss the call. Is this a network issue? I tried taking the sim out and also made sure all settings are correct so I am lost on what to try next! Any suggestions please

    Is it only calls affected?

    Resetting my network setting's to factory , has solved the issue thanks
