Pink line on Pixel 8

Hi - over the last couple of weeks I have had some green/pink flickering on my Pixel 8 phone (purchased through ID in Nov 23) and as of this weekend I have a permanent thing pick line running horizontal on the screen.

 

I have been on the Google online help and entered my serial number but it states the device 'was not bought in this country'.

 

Can anyone advise on the best course of action as I understand it is a common issue with the phone.

I’m sorry to hear this, have you taken the device to your local Currys store to look into the options regarding repairs and warranty? 

  

I’m unsure why Google would note the serial number as being bought in another country.

Hi, I’m also experiencing a similar phenomenon. A quick search suggests that this isn't an uncommon issue.

Did you have any luck after bringing the phone to Currys? Were they able to help you with the phone?

I took the phones to Curry’s and they said it could be 28 days for repair.  In the world we live in we are heavily reliant upon our phones for running business and our lives so I don’t think this is acceptable. 

I am still on contract with  ID mobile and having contacted their ‘on-line chat’.  I was told that is all that can be done or buy another handset!! 

This is a known fault, the handset should be replaced.  ID mobile/ Currys should pressure Google to replace these handsets.  Why, as a customer, am i  the one being inconvenienced, why am I paying for a phone that I cannot use and the manufacturers acknowledge that.  The IMEI numbers are within the defective batch of phones they should be replaced.   

Come in ID mobile use your purchasing power to actually help your customers.
