problem submitting pac with no account access

Just ordered a new phone / plan, I have set up an account. I am trying to set up my pac code switch for when the phone arrives. When trying to complete the log in it asks for my telephone number but of course it is not recognised because it is not with ID yet so I cannot progress into the account. I don’t want to miss out switching to keep my current number. Is there a work around or do I just have to wait until I get the ID mobile phone? I could not see an option for giving the pac at checkout. Any advice would be appreciated.
