Hi @Antman1987

Can you please try the below for me please.

Check your phone number on the device

On most Android phones, go to Settings > About phone (or About device) > Status > My phone number.

Some devices may show this under SIM status or SIM card status within the Status menu.

Update the number in the Messages app

Open the Messages app.

Tap More (⋮) > Settings > Advanced.

Select Phone number and update it to the correct number linked to your SIM card.

Tap OK to save.

Reinsert the SIM card

Power off the phone and remove the SIM card.

Restart the device without the SIM.

Power off again, reinsert the SIM card, then turn the phone back on.

Check if the correct ported number now appears in the phone settings.

Test the SIM in another device

If the issue continues, please insert the SIM card into a different phone.

When sending a text message, check whether it shows a temporary number or a ported number.

Hi @Antman1987 Thank you for the update and for following all the steps. I completely understand how frustrating this must be with the incorrect number still showing in RCS.

I have sent you a private message, can you please join this link to chat to us there https://community.idmobile.co.uk/inbox/overview.

I'm having the same problem, have tried all the troubleshooting I can find on Google and within the community forum. There have definitely an issue with the RCS function which is incredibly frustrating

I managed to sort mine out, I logged switched everything off on my fone and disabled RCS, Took the SIM out and rebooted my fone then logged onto Google and removed the number on there and manually added my number, I put my SIM back in then and switched fone back on but didn't enable RCS till the following morning

Hi Antman1978,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. We’re glad to hear you managed to resolve the issue with your RCS number.

Your steps are a great reference for anyone experiencing the same problem restarting the phone, removing and re-adding the number in Google, and re-enabling RCS the next day can often fix the display issue.

Thank you,

Zandile

Thank you for this, that seems for resolve the issue of the temporary phone number appearing. Unfortunately RCS chat still isn't working despite multiple restarts, SIM in and out, clearing cache, clearing data, force stop, toggling RCS on/off I'm checking that the app is up to date. I've also tried leaving rcs off for a prolonged period and then turning on to see if that helps, but no luck.
