Refused another mobile contract

I have three existing contracts with ID, two which I’ve had for about 10 months and another one I took out a couple of weeks ago. One of my other family phones has just expired so I figured I’d move it to ID. After placing the order it was cancelled because I didn’t meet the credit check criteria. After about an hour on the phone and online chat, it appears that because I took out a contract within the last month, I have to wait another three months before applying for a new one and there is nothing anybody can do to get round this! I can’t believe ID are turning down new business. I have a solid record of paying £60 a month for the other two contracts but because I haven’t made three payments of £6 for the sim only contract I took out, they won’t sell me another!

Is there anything that anybody at ID can do to sort this please, all I want is all the mobile plans I have under one provider for ease of management.

Hi @Andymcg,

Take a look at the following Help Hub article for more information about Credit Checks and why you may not be accepted for additional lines:

Is there someone else in your household that can take out the contract? With the new iD Mobile app, you are able to manage multiple plans under a single log-in, even if they are held by different people.

Thanks.

Thanks, there is somebody else, I could get my wife to apply but it just seems odd that the first line of that link you provided states ‘ You can purchase a maximum of 2 iD Mobile plans every 3 months. ‘ whereas, it appears I am blocked after purchasing one.

Guess that’s the route we’ll have to follow.

Hi @Andymcg

The rule of two contracts maximum is a rule set by ourselves, however if you are only able to get one, this is more likely a credit check decision, deciding that we can only sell you one contract and not multiple at the time of the credit check.
