Repeated "Unable to connect to iD Mobile" error.


Hi. 

I’ve been with iD mobile for a few months but have never been able to use the app due to the repeated "Unable to connect to iD Mobile" error. 

My phone is Android 10 and the minimum requirement is Android 9, so that should not be the issue.

I’ve run “Reset network setting”, but that didn’t work.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstall the app before and after resetting the network settling but still go the same error.

Is anyone able to help?  I’ve attached an screenshot with the error code.

@Bethany1 If you get no joy in sorting this out via Live Chat you could try the following:

(and although I could be wrong I think you’re using a Samsung phone)

On your phone go to SettingsApps → scroll down and click on the iD Mobile app → click on Storage → (at the bottom) click on Clear cache AND Clear data (you will get a warning on the latter, ignore it) → click the back button and now Uninstall the iD Mobile app from that screen. Restart your phone. Download the app again and see if it now works.

If it does then all’s good

If it doesn’t then sorry for wasting 10 minutes of your time.

 

At the time of writing the latest App version is 6.1.3

How long have this been an issue for please?

Hi @Tyler,

I can log on via the website and view my bills and payments.

The app has never worked for me and it’s 3-4 months since I’ve been with iD Mobile.

I get the same error message, the error code starts with 500 but the rest of the digits change.

Can you please remove the app and then download it again. 

Once you have done this, please open the app using mobile data and not WiFi.

Hi @Natalie W,

I uninstalled, reinstalled and logged into the app with Wifi off and got the same error, see attached.

To confirm, is this happening when initially opening the app or when you are attempting to login please?

Hi @Natalie W,

After installing the app I have absolutely no problem logging in, no error messages, no warnings

Immediately after the login, when the app tries to open the white screen with the error messages appears (see screenshot from last message).

When I close and reopen the app then I see the green iD Mobile screen with the error message (see screenshot from first message).

And this is only via the app this happens? It doesn’t happen when logged into the website?

Hi @Tyler, Yes this is an app only error.  I don’t have an issue with the website.
