Restrictions on receiving messages from verification services,?

Are there restrictions on receiving messages from shortened or special numbers such as verification services, in this case Itsme? Or from these services when they are located abroad?

I am properly set up with Itsme, but their messages are not coming through. This is a total nuissance as that means I cannot login to some significant apps, such as my bank abroad.

Sounds like there might be a network routing problem, ​@SunshineStef

SMS text messages are not usually restricted or blocked, but the senders message must be routed correctly to be received.

Is there something specific that I therefore should check with the sender? How should their messages be routed for me to receive them?

Okay ​@SunshineStef, if you’re receiving SMS text messages from other senders, but not from your 3rd party verification service, it sort of suggests they might have a network routing issue. 

Since joining iD, has their service ever worked?

No, it hasn’t. I have though no issues with other, UK-based verification services.

Okay ​@SunshineStef, so your iD SIM accepts verification SMS text messages from other platforms - this seems to suggest itsme might’ve a have a network routing issue. 

Assuming you’ve double-checked the mobile number linked to your itsme account?

Okay ​@SunshineStef, why not say that iD Mobile aren’t blocking SMS text messages from itsme - perhaps that’ll prompt them to investigate.

Sorry to hear this, is it only the one “itsme” service you’re having issues with texts from or multiple?
