setting up tap and pay with samsung A25 5G model

I recently just bought this phone and very happy with it. I normally pay for things using old school plastic credit card but would like to set up contactless payment using the phone. I think this uses NFC technology. Obviously I cannot use Apple Pay and I tried Samsung pay but it didn’t accept my Visa Barclaycard, even though I entered everything hundred percent correctly. So I guess I am left with Google pay. Does anybody else use Google pay and how do they find it? I think this is the way I need to go forwards.I presume setting it up is straightforward?
