Hi, i seem to be getting charged 55p per message even if it is a message between i phones? Is this correct?

Yes! MMS messages are chargeable, but iMessages are free! Both you and the recipient need to enable iMessage on your iPhones to be able to send and receive iMessages (at no cost).

  • Green Bubble = SMS/MMS
  • Blue Bubble = iMessage

If you are sending MMS messages they are 55p a message. You can send iMessages for free which uses WiFi or data between iPhone to iPhone - you know you are using iMessage if the message bubble is blue. If it is green you are using SMS or MMS. You can also use WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger which uses WiFi or data.

Hey there @Danlatter, as kindly advised by both @MZone & @WelshPaul, it would appear you’re sending MMS messages, which do indeed cost 55P each.

To stop this from happening, you’ll either need to ensure you’re sending messages via iMessage if you have an iPhone when sending an MMS, or via another platform such as WhatsApp or Messenger. Or, please set your bill cap to £0.00, and this will stop all out of contract charges from being able to happen, and stop the texts from being sent if they were to cost.

Thanks,

Tyler
