SIM upgrade

I've just upgraded my SIM only contact to another SIM only contact. I'm being sent a new SIM card but can I continue to use my existing SIM? If I have to use the new SIM card then will my existing number be usable on the new SIM card?

An upgrade order would normally be processed within 24-hours, ​@Kparmar

Your existing iD SIM should continue to work - a new (inactive) iD SIM might be dispatched, in case your existing SIM doesn’t fit your upgrade (iD seem to assume you’ll always be upgrading your phone).

Can you confirm if this was an upgrade or a new connection? A new connection would give you a new SIM card with a new number.

If it’s an upgrade then your number should stay the same. Not sure why you have been sent a new SIM card though. Please double check the documents to make sure you haven’t taken a new connection with a new number.

With an upgrade, a new SIM would not usually be sent as this is just a change on our system and should not impact your SIM or number. 

Can you please double check your order confirmation that is an upgrade to your current plan and not a new sale?

@Natalie W I've checked my order email and it started “iD Mobile Pay Monthly SIM - Upgrade”. We've got an email which is delivering something I guess I assumed it's a new SIM card but any idea what is being posted through?

As the change is for an upgrade, you will be keeping your number. 

If you activate the new SIM, the number will be attached to that.
