swapping ID sim

Hi,

     I am in contract and have a Google pixel 8 pro. Unfortunately I fell on the weekend and smashed my phone. A family member has kindly gifted me her Samsung galaxy s23 ultra.

 

I believe that the Samsung is unlocked as when I am registering onto a network ID comes up. However it is not connecting. It is stating "unable to connect. Try again later" Is this more likely to be a device issue or do I need to do something else?

Have you tried resetting network settings?
