Two numbers!

Why do I have two numbers - the old one I switched, and want to use, which is the ‘primary’ one, and the number ID gave me, which I don’t want, called ‘mobile data’. I’ve accidentally sent messages using mobile data and my contacts don’t know it’s me!

Cause you have 2 SIMs active on the phone both with different numbers. iD give you a temporary number until your number ports over. Have you requested your old number to port over by giving iD a PAC?

Thank you so much for your advice! Yes, I requested my old number to be switched over, and gave ID the PAC. This was was done by 10 pm last night. However, I still seem to have the two numbers. Is there anything I can do about that?

I didn’t realise I was so un-technical - I am feeling a bit old and useless! Thanks again for your help, though!

What is your SIM card situation. Do you have 1 physical SIM in the SIM card slot and 1 eSIM or just 2 eSIMs?

I opted for an e-sim with ID, and left my old EE SIM card in my old phone. Do you think I might have two e-sims?

If you did an iPhone to iPhone transfer it would have asked if you wanted to transfer your EE SIM to your new phone as an eSIM. So if you have no physical SIM in your new phone it means your new phone is using an iD eSIM & an EE eSIM. You need to delete the EE eSIM off your new phone as that should have been deactivated now after your number ported to iD.
