Unable to send message to short code

I need to check why I can’t text 70085 (a charity number)

  • The text will cost me £2.
  • I have a bill cap of £25 and have not exceeded this
  • Premium messages and calls is enabled in the app
  • I’ve toggled the “Premium” setting on and off.
  • I’ve increased my bill cap.
  • The shortcode lists on IDMobile suggests this number is available to text. 
  • On https://www.short-codes.com/codes it suggests this number is available to text

Every time I try, I get an error back from the provider of the code saying “we cannot process your donation”

How can I find out whether this shortcode is actually available through ID Mobile?

Perhaps it’s not supported by iD Mobile, @JoeG.

The SHORT-CODES site says: “The code of practice and the allocation of any shortcode does not guarantee commercial service availability. The enabling of shortcode services on any individual mobile network will be subject to commercial terms between service providers and the individual MNO or MVNO.”

You’d hope iD customer service know the answer though. Perhaps get in-touch using their online Live Chat service or or privately via Facebook Messenger.

    @andewhite I’m not assuming that ID Mobile’s details here are correct 😊 I know there’s other questions out there about other shortcodes not being textable for various reasons.

    It’s just frustrating that ID Mobile indicate it’s available, but it doesn’t work..so I’m assuming this is incorrect.
