unknown calls

I am getting spam no caller IDs and I’ve been told I can contact my network provider to track the call so I can take it to the police, is this possible?

It’s gotten to a point where I have to keep my phone on DND to stop these calls coming through throughout the day and the night. When I say spams- I mean about 30-50 calls per hour. When I answer, it’s silence. I feel like I’m being harassed and I don’t know what to do. I can’t block unknown calls because I need to take work phone calls so I’m completely stuck. This has been happening for the last 3 weeks.

I just need to know if it’s possible to trace these calls so that I can take it to the police.

Thank you!

Hey there @Tofiffee, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, we cannot track these calls I’m afraid. However, if you are being harrassed, you may be able to get an action fraud reference, and if so, we can change your phone number for free if you’d like to see if this stops this from happening?

Unfortunately, spam calls are something that we as a network can’t really do much about or control, other than to advise to ignore/block them where possible, or a potential number switch with us. However, we cannot trace down calls which are no caller ID’s I’m afraid.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hey there @Tofiffee, you will need to contact/fill out a form on the action fraud website. They will ask some questions etc to see if you should be applying for one, and once you have that reference, please let us know here (PLEASE DON’T POST THE REFERENCE HERE).

https://www.actionfraud.police.uk

We can then send you a PM to assist further in the number change.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi @Tofiffee

Once you have an AFR number then your best option is to connect to the Live Chat to discuss changing your number:-

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-support
Type ‘talk to a person’ in the dialogue box to connect to an adviser.
(available 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 6pm Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays)

I am sure that you will not be the first person to be in this situation and so it should be an easy process.

Good luck x
