@Dannii36f There is a workaround though this would temporary prevent ANY voicemails being received, but the so-and-so who keeps pestering you should hopefully get the message after a day or so as when they try to call you they’d be greeted to words like ‘sorry the number you are calling is not available, please try later’. This might give them the impression you’ve change your number.

But 2 things to think about, 1 is as above → nobody could leave a message during the switch off and the 2nd thing is I really don’t know if doing the following would delete any saved or any messages you’ve not yet listened to.

Anyway, simply via the iD Mobile app -> click on Plan (3rd option at the bottom) → scroll down to Manage your iD services → scroll down to Voicemail and swipe it to off (off will show it greyed out) → click save and exit the app.

Give it a few days in the hope they give up and simply reverse the above.

Hey there @Dannii36f, thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, you cannot stop phone numbers leaving voicemails I’m afraid, which is the same for all networks I believe.

You can only block a number from actually contacting your via text or call.

Thanks,

Tyler

No problem at all Nat🙂

I’ve had my voicemail service turned off for YEARS due to the double glazing, PPI, Is you house made of mud, stick or brick and we’re calling you as you had an accident and we believe you fell off the moon type of calls.

Oh and don’t get me started on the Microsoft your system has been hacked calls either🙄

Now I either let the number ring off or simply reject the call🤗

Simple question….WHY can’t phone numbers which have been identified as malicious/unsolicited by a subscriber to your network be stopped from calling their number and leaving a voicemail?

Millions upon millions of unsolicited calls, texts AND voicemails every day JUST in the UK. This is a major problem for most of the population I believe and to respond in such a lame manner, is entirely unacceptible. Your reaction should be, what can I do to fix this issue for you.!!

Thanks

Hey there @Mike Aiton, I completely appreciate your frustrations here, and understand your point of view of course.

However, as much as I’d really love to help in this situation, which I’d offer and do if I could, there is nothing that can be done I’m afraid.

This isn’t something speciifc to iD Mobile that cannot be changed, but is the same for all UK networks. Unfortunately, no matter what, anyone can leave you a voicemail, even when blocked, and nothing can be done as a network to put a stop to that, or any network in that case. It to put simply is something that isn’t possible to change, as much as we’d love that to be the case in able to assist you further here.

We’re really sorry about that.

If you’re being harrassed or spammed for or receiving malicious messages or voicemails, we’d strongly recommend reporting this to the police.

Thanks,

Tyler

Thanks for your quick respone Tyler.

I’m at a loss however, to understand why your industry seem to be unable or unwilling to explore options to provide robust protection for your customers who require it.

I wonder what the governments’ view on this issue of partially protecting vulnerable customers from unsolicited communication is….better than nothing…..
