When do I stop paying for my handset?

I'm close to the end of my contract. Can anyone tell me when do I stop paying the cost of my handset? Is it when I'm able to upgrade or is it at the end of my contract date? I can't afford to upgrade so I'll be looking to switch to a sim only plan at the end of my plan. From what I can see, my upgrade date commences after 8th May, but my 24mth contract ends 8th July.

Technically (and legally) you’re not paying for a handset, you’re paying for a service. The price you pay continues until you cancel, port out, or upgrade.

FYI - You can upgrade to a plan that comes with a device or a plan that doesn’t.

Hi @Bubblicious  as @WelshPaul  advised, there is no separate payment for the handset and the plan, just one price. Your contract will continue as it is unless you let us know differently. You can always upgrade to a SIM only plan, which will work out cheaper. You can view your upgrade options by logging into your account.

I hope this helps.
