When should i switch my sim card

I’m switching to ID mobile and my new sim has arrived I’ve changed my sim to log into the app and send over my PAC code. Do I need to switch back to my old sim then switch over again when my signal cuts out or can I continue using my new sim?

Thank you for getting in touch.

Our iD Mobile SIMs arrive active with a temporary number, so you can start using your new SIM straight away while waiting for your number to transfer over.

Once you submit your PAC code and the transfer is completed, your existing number will automatically switch over to your iD Mobile SIM. You do not need to keep swapping between SIMs.

Please continue using your new SIM as normal, and your service will update automatically once the number port is complete. Your old SIM will stop working once the transfer has finished.

Hi,

Does the same process apply when switching ESIM’s, I have my QR code for my new ESIM but my porting day is not until next Wednesday. So my question is should I download my new ESIM now or wait until Tuesday or Wednesday?

Yes, that's right.

You can download and install your new eSIM now using the QR code you've received. It won't affect your current service straight away.

When your port completes on your scheduled porting day (Wednesday), simply remove or disable your old network's SIM/eSIM, and your iD Mobile eSIM should then become active with your transferred number.
