why is my data usage increased so much on ID mobile compared to my previous EE data when i use the phone the same


I have only been with Id mobile for a couple of weeks and have burned through 100gb of data already! I was on EE for years with only 5gb of data and never went over, I am not using my phone any differently at all, so I am really confused and worried about the extra charges for being over my data allowance!

Sorry to hear this, this may be a change in the usage or in the speeds you get, if you’re accessing 5G connections you may be using more data and quicker than you would on 4G.

 

To avoid any extra charges, we’d recommend using a bill cap.

Hi @John Price 

 

We wouldn’t know, you’re the only one who could as you’re the one using the device, using your data.

 

It could be anything from downloading updates to the device or apps, backing up photos, watching videos etc.

 

Your device may have an inbuilt data tracker, you can use this to see what’s used data.
