iPhone 16 Pro Max

No matter where i am, home or work, if not connected to WiFi the ID/3 signal strength means nothing, I get the slowest internet connection along with calls the constantly drop out. Why is this? Current location WA1 1RL, home M27 6.

Signal checker no issue with either location 5G?

Previous network o2 no issues? 28.3mbps

Have you tried your iD SIM in the same phone you used to speed test with your O2 SIM, @dmcgra

Good suggestion, tried both sims in both phones, results below.

o2 - iPhone SE 24.3 mbps and iPhone 16 pro max 25.9 mbps

slight improvement on previous.

id - iPhone SE 5.93 mbps and iPhone 16 pro max 6.05 mbps

photos won’t upload as too slow 🤣

Unfortunately, looks like O2 are the superior network in your location, @dmcgra.

If you’re in the cooling-off period of your new iD phone contract, you could return your order.

This community article might help.

Hey there @dmcgra, thank you for reaching out.

From checking the coverage checker, I can see both postcode lie in weak 5G areas, so we’d recommend using 4G in these area’s for the best signal possible:

Have you also tried resetting network settings?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler,

Yeah tried to reset, done nothing apart from wipe my WiFi settings. To me this doesn’t look like weak 5g as it’s coloured as no problem in and outdoor. 4g also below. Regardless, O2 is 28mbps and 3/ID is 7mbps On 4g? why is 3 so slow?

Hey there @dmcgra, as you can see from the screenshot you sent, for 5G, the area is coloured in lighter red, meaning it’s a weaker 5G area, and you’d only receive any/good 5G signal when outdoors here, not indoors at all.

However, of course the 4G issue is a problem we can look into further.

How long have you had this issue for please?

Thanks,

Tyler
