accidental international roaning?

My last 2 bills are each £25 higher than normal. International roaming appears on the bill but I've only been to Spain & back on the ferry. On the way out I accidentally 'used' all my data allowance, while asleep, according to the message received at 7am so on my return journey I set the phone onto airline mode to avoid this. My husband has the same phone & contract, he wasn't charged extra. I'd like ID to refund but can't find any way to speak to a human.

Roaming Charges on Ferry Travel

When traveling on a ferry between countries within roaming zones, it's possible to incur roaming charges even if you're not actively using your mobile device. This can occur when your phone connects to the ferry's built-in satellite services, which are often very expensive.

This is why you were charged!

Hi @Lachica

As @WelshPaul suggests, it very much seems like you’ve been charged for roaming whilst on a ferry.

To avoid any unwanted charges, we’d recommend adjusting your bill cap accordingly.
