charged to react to a text message?

I have a 14p plus vat fee on my bill under text messages. I checked the number and the date of the message on my phone. The number belongs to my yoga instructor and on the day of the charge she sent me a message which I reacted to with a 🩷.  Have I been charged to react to a message?!? If so, can anyone direct me to where this is explained by IDmobile please? And why would this reaction be chargeable but not others?

If you have replied to a text message with a picture, photo, emoji, GIF, video or sound clip then you will be charged for an MMS message.
This is outlined in their ‘Call charges & Add-Ons’ and are not included as part of the ‘Unlimited texts’ in a contract package….

If you wish to send (free) MMS messages then you will need to use an app that allows this e.g. Whatsapp.

    If you have replied to a text message with a picture, photo, emoji, GIF, video or sound clip then you will be charged for an MMS message.
    This is outlined in their ‘Call charges & Add-Ons’ and are not included as part of the ‘Unlimited texts’ in a contract package….

    Minimum charge for MMS is either 30p or 55p depending on when you joined or upgraded so that doesn’t seem correct unless I’m missing something.

    ​@Decembersangel72  thanks for this - is there a nuance between reacting and replying to a message?  In this instance (and others where I haven’t been charged), I reacted i.e. I marked their message with a heart.  I didn’t send a gif/emoji as a message.

    We are sorry to hear there has been an expected charge on your invoice. 

    As the charges do not match the charge rate for MMS messages, we would need to look in to what the charge is.

    In order for your yoga instructor to see your reaction (to their message), a message would be sent from the phone with your iD SIM, ​@Caz6. 

    It’s possible that the method the phone with your iD SIM used to send the reaction message, resulted in an out-of-plan charge. To avoid out-of-plan charges, just set the bill cap of your iD account to £0. 

    It’s also possible your yoga instructor’s mobile number is classified as a non-mobile number, despite beginning with 07 - all the UK mobile operators have a range of 07 numbers, which they classify as non-mobile.
