My 2 year contract is just ended. Last week i had an email from id saying I can stay on the same plan for £0. Today a billing email for the usually monthly contract amount arrived. Neither makes sense. How do I pay for sim only?

Once you reach your contract end date your service just continues on a month by month basis. If you were been charged for a handset and a plan then you can change to a SIM only plan by doing a plan change. See links below.
