data usage


My son has used all his data this month. He turned his data off yesterday after receiving a text to say he'd used 100% but the bill went up from £35 to £72! If I change his plan from the 10gb to 25gb today will that take affect straight away and will it reduce the bill?

If you change plan the new plan will start straight away however it will be pro rata for your billing period see

Pretty sure your bill won’t reduce unfortunately as the usage so far has already been billed.

You can always set a spend cap to avoid any unexpected charges for the future.

You will have to wait for the monthly bill to generate to see exactly what has been billed.
