How do i stop ID emailing me every day about nothing?

Since ive started my contract with ID I get emails from them constantly about stuff i have no interest in and I cant seem to find any settings to stop that. I dont need emails to show me how to check data usage or what perks I get with my contract. Is there a way to just stop all emails from them?

Thank you

    Hi @MattAlexKaye,

    Thanks for your reply.

If you've already unticked Email in your communication preferences and are still receiving emails, it's worth noting that some communications are sent to all customers to keep them informed about their plan, account or available services. These aren't always classed as marketing communications, so they may still be sent even when marketing preferences have been updated.

The types of emails you've described, such as tips and information about managing your plan, fall into this category and can't be unsubscribed from through communication preferences.

If you'd like this reviewed further, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Service Team via Live Chat, who can escalate your concerns: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

We appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration in receiving emails that you don't feel are relevant to you.

    Regards,

Hey there @Stopthespam, sorry you feel this way. When you first join us, we do send more emails to help customers who may need the help, or may be interested in further details about what their contract and SIM can do. However, you should be able to scroll to the bottom and opt out of marketing if you’re not wanting to keep receiving these.

If you’ve only recently joined us, then that’s why you’re receiving more emails now, and these will become gradually less the longer you’re with us.

However, to turn off iD Mobile marketing emails, find the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email and click it. Alternatively, log in to your iD Mobile account online or the iD App, navigate to your account or profile settings, and adjust your communication preferences.

Or, of course we can advise to simply ignore/delete them as you wish.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

There is no unsubscribe button and ive already unticked all options from my communication preferences. Is there any other options, is there an email address I can get in touch with?

Im aware I can ignore them but ive had 20 emails total from ID in under 1 month, its just unnecessary.

Hey there @Stopthespam, we don’t have an email address you can contact us on for general enquires I’m afraid. As mentioned, at the start of the contract, we do email more for the first month or two, to help the customers who need it. It may be that these emails are still sent as they can be important for many customers, even when opting out of marketing etc, so all we can really recommend is to ignore/delete them if you don’t need them.

You could block the email address (although this may block billing emails etc), or you could set a rule in your inbox so they go to a folder you don’t check or receive notifications for.. But as mentioned, we don’t always send this many emails, only at the start of the contract to help our customers as much as possible with what their contract with us is capable of, as many customers are unaware of the features etc offered by us.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

Was this ever resolved as i am having the same issue. There is no unsubscribe button on any of the emails and there is no preferences section in order for me to turn off all marketing and all communication from ID mobile. I do not want useful hint or tips, i do not want marketing. Heck i don’t even want you to have my email address but i need to give it to register and now I’m stuck with unwated marketing clogging up my emails that i have no way to stop.

    Hi @Unsubscribe,

We're sorry to hear this has been frustrating.

If you've only recently joined iD Mobile, that may be why you're receiving more emails at the moment. These communications usually become less frequent the longer you've been with us.

To stop marketing emails, you can normally:

    • Click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.
    • Alternatively, log in to My Account online or the iD Mobile app, go to your Account/Profile settings, and update your communication preferences.

If you're unable to see either of these options, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Service team via Live Chat so they can review your marketing preferences.

In the meantime, you can also ignore or delete any emails you don't wish to keep.

    Regards,

These promotional emails do not contain an unsubscribe link, and there is no option to opt out in an online profile. This directly violates UK PECR/GDPR regulations.

You can file an official report with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/nuisance-calls-and-messages/spam-emails/report-spam-emails/

I’m also having the email problem. Your latest email says “This email was sent to you because you gave us your email address along with permission to contact you about special offers and new products from idmobile.co.uk.” - I most certainly did not! There is no unsubscribe link and I can’t for the life of me see where on the website or App there is a link to control communication preferences.

As referenced above, “These promotional emails do not contain an unsubscribe link, and there is no option to opt out in an online profile. This directly violates UK PECR/GDPR regulations.”

Please tell me how to stop the emails!

I also see no unsubscribe link, and it's frustrating seeing agents her chatting BS about that - why are all these replies in private messages? We need a way to unsubscribe which doesn't risk missing actually useful emails like billing ones. In meantime thanks to person who shared to report the rules violation, will report there
