My phone will become useless when the 3G network is totally swithed off by the end of 2025. My contract expires April 2026. Why should I have to pay my bill when ID cannot provide a service

Hi Sian.

Thankyou for your help and advice, you as has everyone been most helpful

I am conviced that this phone is faulty and I will be taking it back to Currys.

My wifes phone settings are exactly the same as mine, hers works perfectly well indoors and outdoors.

I phoned a few people yesterday on my phone, they all said they could hear loud buzzing and crackling, and that I kept "disappearing".

Kind Regards,

wah

Just to say, the iD Mobile 3G network services have already been switched off in most places in the UK, @Wah

An iD contract phone bought in 2024 should be able to work after the iD Mobile 3G shutdown - what make and model did you buy from iD?

Hello Sian.

Thankyou for responding.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy AO5s, my postcode is Ts6 9LW.

The phone works intermittently, frequently loses a signal both indoors and outdoors

Hi Sian.

This phone does not have 4 or 5G compatibility

The Galaxy A05s is a 4G capable handset, @Wah

This device has been approved for use on the iD Mobile network, and for their 4G Calling and WiFi Calling network services.

Hi @Wah

As this handset is on the iD Mobile Approved list then you should be able to connect to the 4G network.

Have you enbaled VoLTE? VoLTE is ‘Voice over LTE’ which is the type of network 4G uses.
To enable VoLTE:-
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks. Then, toggle on "VoLTE calls" next to the relevant SIM card.

Also, to enable WiFi Calling:-

Good Luck x x x
