Firstly, please try setting this up via the app and website. If neither work, please make sure that the bank card you’re using has the exact same billing details as your personal details in your iD personal settings.
If that still doesn’t work, then please call 0800 049 2376 in the mean-time, who should be able to set up a direct debit for you. You will need your customer service PIN as suggested also by
