Great news @Vanessa Carr ! France is one of our free Roaming destinations which means that you can use your monthly data allowance and add-ons at no extra cost, up to 30GB.

As Whatsapp uses data, this will be fine.

Please note; if you are travelling by ferry, when you’re at sea, we recommend you don’t use your phone, and put it in flight/airplane mode until you get to shore. This is because using your phone while at sea can be very expensive.

Ferry and cruise operators often use their own phone network that’s operated via satellite. Connecting to a satellite network is much more expensive then connecting to a land operated network.

We hope you have a fab trip!

Hey there @Vanessa Carr, we can and would only charge you for photo’s send via regular SMS, both in the UK and abroad. We do not control WhatsApp, therefore, you can send whatever you like via WhatsApp and we wouldn’t charge you.

If you’re abroad in a non-inclusive roaming country and you’re using data to use Whatsapp however, we’d only charge you for the data usage, not for what you’ve sent.

Where are you abroad please?

Thanks,

Tyler
