Understanding advanced billing?

I understand that billing is “one month in advance” however why have I been billed for the whole of July 25 when my existing (Spusu) contract changeover date was the 29th July 25? ( Note I originally asked to change to ID on the 2nd July but remained with Spusu until the 29th)

Hi there @James B925, the first payment when you join us is taken 14-days after joining us, paying for the first month in advance. The first payment doesn’t take into considertion any number switch etc. Payments begin when the contract begins, not when you switch your number or start using it.

Thanks,

Tyler

Okay, in that case if it is a “month in advance” payment, would it not be better if the Bill actually stated that the period covered is August and not the 2nd of July to the 1st of August as stated? This currently indicates to me that I have paid both Spusu and ID for usage in the month of July?

Hi there @James B925, we cannot comment on what you pay Spusu or when your contract ends with them. We can only advise that your billing begins with us as soon as you join and the contract becomes active. When you decide to purchase with us, and when you decide to switch your number to us is completely your choice. Billing begins from when the line-rental becomes active, whether you begin using it then or not.

As with most networks, we bill your monthly line rental in advance, meaning you pay for the services (Minutes, Texts, and Data) you receive for the upcoming month. Your charges start from the date your SIM card is dispatched or your eSIM is sent to your email.

Hi, as I instructed ID to change my number over on the 29th of July when my Spusu contract ended,  I assumed that billing would commence (in advance) when I (actually) commenced using the ID network. Clearly not!

I’m sure you will subsequently point me to the small print justifying your charge for a months service that I did not need, however this is a disappointing and poor way to welcome new customers.

Hi @James B925, the links I’ve sent above do state when your billing begins when you join us. The line-rental begins immediately when your order is dispatched, so we begin charging right away, and it’s the customers imperative as to whether they use it then or not. If you wish for billing to begin when you transfer your number over to us, we’d always advise to order the plan around then instead.

I completely appreciate your frustrations, however, I’m unsure of a network that begins billing when you join them from the number switch date, as opposed to the contract start date as soon as you order. I believe that most networks are exactly the same on this, and would struggle to find one that differs from this billing process.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks,

Tyler
