unfairly charged for data roaming

Hi

I was on holiday in Tunisia from 13/5 to 21/5 and have been charged £45 extra for data roaming and using ROW internet.
This is completely incorrect as my data roaming is always off - I’ve been home for a month and it’s still off. There’s no need for it to ever be on!

I was at an all inclusive resort so was always connected to WIFI anyway and even when I got to the airport. My phone automatically connected to the wifi as I’ve been before.

It’s likely that you either connected to a country whose border you were near, that’s not included in iD Mobile’s inclusive EU roaming package, or you travelled through one of these countries.

Or, it’s likely that you were charged for going out/near to the sea, and connected to the maritime network.

I’d recommend contacting iD Mobile’s live-chat to investigate these charges further for you if you need:

Maybe just set your iD account bill cap to £0 and avoid any possibility of out-of-plan charges, whether you’re roaming or otherwise, @Nmccx.

This community article might help.

Hey there @Nmccx, as advised by @WelshPaul, it’s likely you connected to a bordering country, or in Tunisia itself, as it costs to roam here, at some point. As also advised by @andewhite, we’d recommend setting your bill cap to £0.00 when roaming if you wish to not be charged at all, so it’s automatically blocked.

Were you able to contact our live-chat as advised at all @Nmccx?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi I pay £6 monthly for my plan but I do not think I am getting the correct amount of data for what I am paying. I upgraded from £5 monthly to £6 monthly a while ago.

Hi @Andrew Rayner

What deal did you upgrade to?
