Why cant i send SMS to short code 79100

I’m trying to send an SMS to 79100 however the message never sends. My cap is high enough to cover the charge and my content settings should allow it. Are certain codes blocked at the network level?

Thanks for getting in touch, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble sending your SMS to 79100.

 

Short codes (like 5–6 digit numbers such as 79100) are generally supported on iD Mobile, however they are classed as out-of-plan / premium SMS, which means they rely on both your Bill Cap settings and your account permissions being correctly enabled. As you have mentioned that your bill cap is already set, I kindly ask that you try the below steps:

1. Check Premium / Short Code permissions

  • In your iD Mobile account settings, ensure Premium Rate Services / Out of Plan charges are allowed
  • Also double-check your phone settings to ensure SMS sending is not restricted or blocked

 

2. Try basic troubleshooting

  • Restart your phone
  • Toggle Airplane Mode on and off
  • Try sending the message again without any saved contact (manually type 79100)

 

In some cases, short code messaging can also be affected by a temporary network restriction or provisioning issue, even when everything appears correctly set up on the account.

I have done all that and spoken to online chat who reset the cap but I still can’t send sms to this number. Please advise.

Thank you for your response, and we are very sorry to hear that you are still experiencing the same issue even after following all the suggested steps.

To help us investigate this further, could you please confirm if you are able to send and receive normal text messages? Additionally, please let us know what error message you receive when attempting to send a text to 79100.

Once we have this information, we’ll be able to assist you further.

I can send sms to contacts just fine. There is no error message as such, it just shows as ‘Not Delivered’ under the message in the messages app.

Can you try a mobile network reset for me please.

 

Mobile network reset:
 

Apple:


1.Press Settings.
2. Press General.
3. Press Transfer or Reset iPhone.
4. Press Reset.
5. Press Reset Network Settings.
6. Press Reset Network Settings.
7. Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen.
8. Restart phone

 

Android:
 
1. Slide your finger downwards starting from the top right side of the screen.
2. Press the settings icon.
3. Press General management.
4. Press Reset.
5. Press Reset mobile network settings.
6. Press Reset settings.
7. Press Reset.
8. Press Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings.
9. Press Reset settings.
10. Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
11. Restart phone
