Activating replacement and upgrade SIMs

Hi @Hikari @Adzdalton,

Just a heads up, we've now introduced a new SIM activation process for 'replacement' and 'upgrade' SIMs.

Rather than having to contact customer service to activate their SIM, customers can now activate their SIM on the iD Mobile app or My Account online, if they're not registered, they can also activate their SIM here: https://my.idmobile.co.uk/web/cpw/sim-swap?

The non-registered process will require the customer to either have a valid email address registered on their iD Mobile account, or be able to receive an SMS to their iD number. This is so that we can send non registered customers a 'one time password' as a form of verification.

New SIM are activated on dispatch, so new customers don't need to go through this process. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Nikhil

Thank You for the info @Nikhil P

I shall advise customers accordingly when they have enquiry regarding SIM activation.

Just a quick question to clarify one thing.

When customers upgrade their number and receive new SIM card are they required to use the new one since activation has been made easy or they still can use old one and new one is still "just in case" thing?

Hey @Hikari,

So customer's can use their current SIM card, as the plan change will go through on their current SIM, however we would prefer all customers to activate their new SIM card.

Thanks,
Nikhil
