Credit rating is too low for contract?

Hi,

I was buying a phone from Curry's but apparently my credit is too low, it was a £17.99 contract for 24 months but I'm only allowed a sim £15 or under.

I've never had a credit card nor have I ever borrowed any money before but I definitely have enough money to pay for the contract though - is there any way around this at all?

Thank you.

Hey @MariamZ,

Unfortunately, all contract purchases require a credit check so there’s no way around this.

You can either:

Buy a PAYG SIM and use this which requires no credit check and then buy a phone outright.

Or you can buy a SIM only plan which is often easier to be accepted on.

You should be able to upgrade 6-months after good payments to a handset contract and that won’t need a credit check.

Could you pay for the phone in full and buy a SIM only plan @MariamZ?
