Hi.

I recently joined Id and used my pac code to transfer my number.

I can receive calls and texts perfectly but when I send texts the recipient sees my original Id number and not the number I transferred,

Anyone any idea how to resolve this?

TIA

No joy I’m afraid!

Also tried taking the sim out, switching on, off and re-inserting the sim. Still no joy.

It’s a Pixel 7a running android version 13.

Okay @Dave Rock, the following might solve the issue in this case:

  1. Turn OFF RCS chats (“Chat features”) in the Google Messages app.
  2. Turn OFF your handset and carefully remove the SIM card.
  3. Check the SIM card is clean and undamaged, before re-inserting your iD SIM card.
  4. Turn ON your handset.
  5. Turn ON RCS chats.

Alternatively, disable / turn OFF the “Chat feature” in the Google Messages app.

I think this problem happens if the iD SIM card is used before the number transfers to iD Mobile. Google’s clever RCS (chat) servers register the iD number allocated for your new connection, with your Pixel device, then fail to recognise the number has changed.

Performing a NETWORK RESET often resolves this issue @Dave Rock

The user guide for your handset, being used with the iD SIM card, normally explains how to do this.
