I’m off to Switzerland in a couple of days and I know it’s not one of the countries on list for free roaming. I currently have a £6 a month contract (I don’t live on my phone, I make a few calls and never exceed the data allowance). My question is (please be patient, I’m stupid with phones) if I buy an add-on, will it cover for any phone calls/data I use in Switzerland, ie if I have a single phone call at £2.50 per call, will that come off the add-on? If I eg look up football scores / google maps, will that come off my add-on each time I use my phone or per mb total? I really don’t want to get an esim, I’m quite sure I will struggle to get this (I’m old and stupid). Please can anyone advise?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer add-ons for roaming abroad, all charges are simply out of contract charges, found via the link below for calls, texts and data:

Therefore, purchasing an add-on won’t help towards data roaming at all.
You will just need to increase your bill cap via the iD Mobile app/website when logged in to allow for these charges to go through, and you can change that anytime:

Thanks Tyler. I’m sure that’s a helpful answer, unfortunately I’m so tech stupid that I couldn’t understand it, so I just kept phone on flight mode and then switched to free wi-fi in the hotel I stayed in. It’s all greek to me. But thanks for trying to help!

We don’t offer roaming in Switzerland so you’ll be charged for using calls, texts and data.
If your cap is £0 you’ll need to increase this so that we can charge you.
However it seems that you are using Wi-Fi.
